Mitra Bishop Roshi comes from Mountain Gate-Sanmonji in the northern mountains of New Mexico, and  she is also a teacher here at Turtleback Zendo.

Mitra Bishop Roshi is Dharma heir of Roshi Philip Kapleau founder of
The Rochester Zen Center in New York.

She has done more than two decades of further training under Harada Shodo Roshi  from Sogen-ji in Okayama, Japan.
